At the end of last week we were notified of additional cuts in Medicaid reimbursements and state grant funding effective July 1. At this point we are unsure what exactly these additional cuts will mean to the Center or what services will be affected by the reduction in reimbursements. It seems that the only thing that we can be certain of at this point is that we are truly challenged by our mission to "advance the mental health of the Douglas County Community through comprehensive behavioral health services responsive to evolving needs and changing environments."
Many of you have asked what you can do to help as we continue to press forward and provide the programs and services that our community depends on. Following are a few things you can do that will make a difference:
Donate to the Bert Nash Center. Visit our website - bertnash.org - to learn more or to make a secure, tax-deductible contribution that will allow us to continue to serve those in need.
Be an advocate. Urge your state and federal elected officials to support increased funding for mental health services.
Take a Mental Health First Aid Class. Learn key skills to help your friends, family, coworkers and neighbors. Current class schedules can be found at bertnash.org.
Become a fan on Facebook and stay up to date on all the latest news and events.
Thank you for all your continued support during these challenging times.
