Central Lawrence Rotary had a great meeting today to plan the Community Bike Ride, which will take place on Saturday, July 16 at the Rotary Arboretum. Special thanks to John Drees with Lawrence Memorial Hospital and Safe Kids for his creative ideas and support. Jessica Mortinger, BAC member, and City transportation planner also participated and is thinking about how to help and spread the word.
Here's the Q&A from the meeting:
- Are helmets required? Yes. Everyone who wants to participate in the ride must wear a helmet. John Drees will have some out there if people forget their helmets.
- Will we be selling T-shirts? Ideally - depends on sponsorship funding.
- Is this a club fundraiser? No. It is intended to be a self-sufficient event - but is not designed to fund the club.
It will be a great day to ride! Get out there!!

It's great to see that so many individuals and organizations have volunteered to help make our first Community Bike Ride a fun and successful event.
