It'll probably be 80-85 degrees at that time, cool enough for hardy Kansans to do a quick ride. Lawrence Central Rotary will provide plenty of shade, snacks (courtesy of the Community Mercantile), water and (rapidly melting) ice.
We've heard through the grapevine that some less heat-hardy individuals who might have considered doing the 8-mile ride are now thinking seriously about the "muffin" ride -- the one-miler for the tykes (and their chaperone parents). That's okay. Whatever floats your boat in this heat works just fine. There's also the three-mile route for the more, or less, adventurous, as the case may be.
Remember to bring your helmet! They'll be doing helmet checks. If you forget yours, they'll have a few on hand.
