Douglas County Dental Clinic Offers Free Services on Give Kids a Smile Day!

The Douglas County Dental Clinic will offer free cleanings, exams, X-rays and restorative dental care to uninsured children on Friday, February 3rd, 2012.

In order to qualify for these free services, the child must live in Douglas County, household income must be at 200% of federal poverty levels or below, and the child can not have dental insurance (including Healthwave or other state insurance). Appointments for these free dental services must be set by Wednesday, February 1st. Please call the Douglas County Dental Clinic at 785-312-7770 to set an appointment. The number of appointments we are able to set is limited, so please call us promptly. A parent or guardian must accompany patients in order for the clinic to offer its services.

The American Dental Association created Give Kids A Smile to build support for public and private solutions that will help under served children get regular oral health care. Held each February, Give Kids A Smile provides free oral health education, screening and treatment services to children from low-income families across the country.

Kudos to the clinic for offering and funding these services. The free services are available to children, ages 18 and under. Last year, the clinic provided an estimated $7,500 in services to 25 children. That's terrific!
