This Friday is FREE Dental Day!

On Friday, September 28th The Douglas County Dental Clinic will be hosting the 5th Annual Free Dental Day Event. As always, this is a first come first served event and services are limited per patient. Services include exams, X-rays, fillings, extractions and cleanings. Paperwork will be distributed to the first 70 people in line starting at 6:30am. Patients must be Douglas County residents, uninsured and living at or below 200% of the federal poverty level.

We're happy to have the support of 9 volunteer dentists on-site this year including Drs. Chris Leiszler, Ed Manda, Galen Van Blaricum, Nealy Newkirk, John Hay, Paul Hererra, Matt Krische, Keith Van Horn and Ryan Brittingham. Dr. Phil Gaus will help with extraction appointments in his office in the weeks following the event.

In addition to Free Dental Services, Health Care Access Clinic will be offering free wellness screenings on a walk in basis and The Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department will be here offering free flu shots.

Will uninsured include adults with medical cards, as they don't cover dental for adults?

Yes, since Medicaid will only cover emergency services (extractions) we will see adults with medical cards for other (not covered) services on this day.
