The Fraternal Order of Eagles #309 annual Fire in the Hole BBQ Cook-off is coming up on May 20-21st. The funds from the Fire in the Hold Cook-off will go to Visiting Nurses to provide care for children who are termed “failure to thrive.” These children are underweight or born in less than ideal circumstances, and commonly, the mother needs instruction on how to breastfeed and provide basic care for her child. The “Well Baby Visits” that VNA provides are so important to the community, and our extensively trained pediatric RN has cared for these babies for more than 20 years. All of the surrounding hospitals and doctors have relied on Visiting Nurses for 42 years to accept these patients because there has simply been no other resource available for these at risk children.
