One word: Bedtime.
I have one son who will not go to sleep without me, and my partner's son who will not go to bed...period.
The boys are so different, so can't be approached the same way. However, we're getting ready to "blend" the families, and have to come up with something! Any ideas on how to (1) make the transition easy on the boys, and (2) make bed time less of a struggle? (Point of information: Both are turning 3 in the next few months)
Are there any parenting classes or support groups that meet in Lawrence?

Sorry it took so long to return a comment. I hadn't been getting any, so I stopped looking as often.
Wow! Blending two 3 year old's must be the hardest thing I can imagine. First of all you are going to have to find some way to take care of yourself while caring for the kiddos. Extra pampering, complaining/support groups of other mommies can be helpful. I don't know of any parenting classes yet, but I will research this for you and get back to you.
For the sleeping: You might try something fun like new bedroom arrangement where the boys share a room. I found when my girls were 3 and 4, they found comfort in sharing a room. Especially, if your bio son is used to sleeping with someone, they can find comfort in sharing a room.
You might even start off with a tent in their room where they get used to sleeping in a close space.
Also, having them decide how to decorate the shared room and even help out with things they are able to do in the decoration department. (Make sure to avoid scary faces or animals)
I'll get back with you some more when I find out about parent groups. Good luck!
