Ugh....so I'm still feeling mighty sore from a combination of a deep tissue massage from last Friday which was followed by a significant amount of really good wine consumption. Next day, I attended my BodyFlow class like a good girl, hungover as hell but hoping I could power my way through. Which I did and felt great, but the next day....ZOMG. I was hurtin' for certain.
Which takes us up to today, Tuesday. I'm obviously no longer hungover and the bruises left by the deep tissue massage (which were totally worth it btw) are starting to fade. But I'm still sore and feel stiff all over. I tried to do a Jillian Michaels circuit workout last night and failed to complete it. I could blame it on my son who wanted me to hang out with him while he watched Backyardigans, but really, it was me just failing...running out of steam....sore....stiff. Oh, and did I mention that I had downed about 5 cookies that day, too?
So what's going on here? Why am I still so bloody sore and exhausted?
Tonight's workout will consist of a good, long stretch and slow build to a 35 minute jaunt on the elliptical at the gym, aiming for a 350 calorie burn, followed closely by perhaps a soak in the hot tub. Then it's off to pick up the boy and hopefully have an early night.
Here's hoping that tomorrow I won't wake up feeling like the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz.
