Health Care Access Clinic Executive Director, Nikki White King, made a special announcement this morning at the Cosmopolitan International Convention in Overland Park. Since hiring additional staff February 1, the Clinic has already seen a 210% increase in patient appointments compared to this time last year. Cosmopolitan Diabetes Foundation was the lead gift on the staff expansion campaign. Their partnership with the local River City Cosmopolitan Club and Breakfast Cosmopolitan Club was highlighted as was enhancement to their diabetes services at the clinic. White King noted "It's all about the partnerships."

Kudos to everyone for trying to get a handle on this disease. Southeast Kansas has a program in place that not only checks childrens BMI, send letters to parents offering help, offer healthy kids cooking classes, exercise program, partnered with Childrens Mercy to get help to patients not able to travel.
