Independence Inc. is offering a new course about becoming an engaged member in your health care for people with disabilities. The course will focus on having a more active voice in your healthcare, how to become more literate in healthcare, and how to be prepared when attending your doctor’s appointments. The course will be taught by our AmeriCorps member, Alison McCourt. Independence Inc. is also partnering with Healthcare Access to teach this important subject matter. The class will be offered on November 2nd, 2011 from 2:00-4:00pm.
The class is free of charge, but registration is required. An individual can register by calling 785-841-0333 ext. 105. If transportation is required, please mention this when calling to register. Rides cost $2 a donation each way and must be scheduled by October 28th, 2011.
