Souper Bowl Week of Caring

Today kicks off a nation-wide effort to draw attention to hunger in our community. The Souper Bowl Week of Caring starts today and runs through Sunday, February 6th.

Be part of Just Food's "Souper Bowl" team and make a touchdown that touches people's lives.

How? By collecting food and money for those in need. Our goal is to raise 10,000 meals. Ask friends, relatives, colleagues, organization members, etc. to donate 10 canned goods or $10 per person.

Don't have time to collect food? Go on-line to www.justfoodfund.org and donate today!

This looks like a great project, Carolyn. How many canned goods equals one meal? And where can you donate canned goods?

Jane - thanks for your interest.

Donations of non-perishable food items can be made at Just Food, 1200 E 11th Street (11th & Haskell). Donations can be accepted Monday from 1-7 pm, and Tuesday - Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.

A gift of $0.74 provides a meal to a neighbor in need. In the last 12 months, Just Food provided 177,660 meals to more than 2,500 families. To sustain this level of assistance, a minimum of $131,000 is needed.

100 percent all donations to Just Food stays in Douglas County to feed hungry people. All monetary donations are completely tax deductable.

Thanks, Carolyn! I checked out the justfoodfund.org site, and it looks very simple to make a donation online.

This is a great organization. I support it, and hope others will too.
