The Ron King Agency, 3010 Four Wheel Drive, Lawrence, will hold a food drive from now until October 14, 2011 at their location, 3010 Four Wheel Drive, Lawrence. Residents are encouraged to drop off food at that location for a chance to win a $25 donation in your name to Just Food.
"We are so grateful for local businesses in Douglas County who get that fighting hunger and giving hope to people is not a one person job," Jeremy Farmer, Just Food Executive Director said. "We are all in this together. And we all will beat it, or get beaten by it together. Amazing things can be done with small things if everyone does something. I am thankful that the Ron King Agency is doing their part."
Just Food on a recent day served 15 new households, totaling almost 50 new people. So far in 2011, Just Food has distributed nearly a half million pounds of food or 521,235 meals to more than 14,000 people.
