The Lawrence Arts Center announced last summer that it received a one-year, $16,000 grant from the Kansas Health Foundation to encourage little tykes to get plenty of exercise.
And, oh boy — have they been doing that!
On Monday, the children were moving and grooving thanks to the grant. They were participating in activities that are part of the arts center's SmART Moves curriculum.
Mike Yoder, chief photographer, captured these cute pics:

The activity is part of a grant from the Kansas Health Foundation for incorporating SmART Moves into the 2011-2012 early childhood programming. SmART Moves engages children in multidisciplinary, physical movement to connect kinesthetic learning with creativity and is taught by LAC dance specialist Ashley Boyack.

As is so often the case, Mike Yoder has great photographs of these kids and their activities.
