Opening of Born Learning Trail set for Saturday

By Alex Garrison

The United Way of Douglas County invites community members to the opening of the Born Learning Trail from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at Deerfield Park, which is just west of the intersection of Princeton Boulevard and Lawrence Avenue.

The Born Learning Trail aims to help preschool children and their families prepare for kindergarten. The walking trail was created with collaboration from the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department and funding from the Douglas County Community Foundation. The trail has 10 interactive learning stations.

The opening event will include storytelling, music, crafts and snacks.
