Free children's book instead of a toy at McDonald's in Great Britain
I'm amazed. Although I personally don't like McDonald's for adult meal use, many families and adults use McDonald's constantly. So here is an anazing thing to behold:
Starting in two days, McDonald's will give a free book with a Happy Meal instead of a toy in Great Britain.
Can you imagine what would happen if this took place in the United States? Kids could get a free book - or a voucher to take to a book store for a book of their choice.
It could also be used for giving instead to immigrants and poorer people who would then be able to find the book of THEIR choice at a local store.
We've got to get started to change McDonald's options in the United States. If Great Britain can have this choice, so can we and many other countries around the world.
Moreover, most probably the book would - or could be - made in the United States! Here are several articles on McDonald's project in Great Britain:
Here is the Daily Mail article.
We should also take a look at McDonald's in other countries. In some countries they offer vegetarian options, for example (look at the pictures in Mommy's files above). This would be much better for adults, especially if they offered low-fat options.
I see many adults who rush by McDonald's on their way to work. This could provide some good choices for them.
They should also offer the adult a choice of where to send his book coupon: to another family, or even to a library of their choice. (I know that in Great Britain they only have "happy meals," but why can't Americans broaden the possibilities?)
And here is a third article from Shine:
I think this is an idea which has great potential in this country!
