Our Inspiration
Our Little Fighter
On November 28th, 2007 our son, Cooper William Keefer, was born with multiple heart defects. He has undergone multiple open heart surgeries and faces several in the future. In the midst of tragedy we have had nothing but blessings and hope.
After arriving home from his second open heart surgery we were taken by the amount of love and care our family and friends provided. They organized several fundraisers to help with the overwhelming medical costs we were encountering. It did not take us long to realize that we were the lucky ones but not everyone was so fortunate. With that, Cooper’s Cause Foundation was born to help those families that too were troubled by the unexpected expenses one encounters when caring for a pediatric heart patient.
Although I would never wish to go through what we have nor would I ever wish this upon our son, given the situation, I could not be prouder to be where we are now. We were given such a challenge and have been so fortunate to make something so good out of it. I don't think we could honor Cooper any better than to be doing what we are now with this foundation. I hope he grows with the foundation and has the passion and respect we do for everyone involved. Please join us on our journey as we continue to raise our little fighter and help other families to do the same.
