Not sure what to do on leap day? Here's a thought

You have one extra day this month... how about taking just 10 minutes out of that day to voice your opinion about our community's health? The Community Health Concerns Survey is in its final days with survey collection ending Wednesday. Take the survey at healthylawrence.org

The survey asks questions related to the importance of and satisfaction with services such as medical, dental and mental health, child care, youth graduation rates, alcohol and drug abuse, physical and verbal abuse, safe and affordable housing and air, water and soil pollution.

Survey results will be integrated into a larger community health assessment report. That report will include other input from focus groups, interviews and a project involving the youth of our community and will provide the foundation for developing a comprehensive community health improvement plan later this year.

If you are a Douglas County resident and are age 18 or older, don't be shy and let your voice be heard. Feel free to share the survey with other Douglas County residents. Responses from more than one person per household are welcome.

If you have any questions, please email Vicki Collie-Akers at vcollie@ku.edu
