Check for the LiveWell EatWell logo at a restaurant near you. Local Burger was one of the first restaurants to be recognized by LiveWell Lawrence for their efforts to bring tasty nutritious foods to their customers. I love their veggie burgers on a whole wheat bun with lettuce and barbecue sauce. I can hardly wait for real homegrown (or farmer's market) tomatoes and fresh basil so I can add them on too. I have tried to make my own veggie burgers but they always fall apart when I try to cook them or just don't taste very good. I keep a few Local Burger veggie burgers in my freezer for a quick sandwich.

I am curious as to what the nutritional value of the veggie burgers are. Calories? Fat? Fiber?

Good question. The veggie burger is 190 calories, 7 grams of fat (4.5 saturated), and 4 grams of fiber. Compared to an 80% lean 3 oz. cooked hamburger which is 209 calories, 14 grams of fat (5 saturated) and 0 grams of fiber. The reason the veggie burger contains saturated fat is because it is made with coconut oil. It is recommended to have 20 grams or less of saturated fat a day based on 2000 calories.
