Do you have a personal wellness goal? What is it? Why did you set it? How is it going?
Every newcomer to the Wellcommons LiveWell Lawrence group who posts a reply to these four simple questions will be entered in a drawing to win one of ten $25 gift certificates to Garry Gribble's Running Sports store.
The drawing will be on Friday, July 16.
Winners will be announced on the LiveWell Lawrence group page. So you'll need to check back to see if you are a winner. Winners will have one week to claim their gifts. If we haven't heard from you by July 23, we will select a different winner.

Hi Marilyn, I am actually doing fairly well with my goal. It's a complete lifestyle change so it's a slow and steady process. I work hard every day to become healthier and healthier.

Great to hear. You are so right about the slow and steady part. I hope you are feeling some positive changes in your energy and overall outlook.

My personal wellness goal is to lose 10% of my body weight so that I can be at a healthier weight. I hope to do this by eating more fruits and veggies and by continuing to exercise. I am doing this to try to be a better example for my daughter. I am close to half way to my goal!!

Sounds like you are well on your way and have a great reason to be motivated. Any tips you can pass on to others who want to do what you are doing?

Absolutely have a wellness goal. I'm training for a 5k in October but I'm also adopting a healthier eating style by eliminating as many processed foods as I can, buy organic when possible and plan more healthy menus for my family.
In addition to physical fitness, I'm also focusing on more spiritual growth and how powerful positive thinking can be.

Great! I think the three things you are working on--exercise, diet and spiritual health--reinforce each other. When I exercise I seem to crave healthier foods. Better fitness and diet make me happier and more in tune with the goodness and beauty in everyday life.
Good luck with your training!
