Are You Passionate About Food and Education?

The Extension Master Food Volunteer (MFV) program allows individuals who have a passion for education and teaching to share their knowledge with others.

Volunteers provide education in many ways, including: Nutrition education at health fairs; Teaching Tasty Food Fast classes; Helping with Foods judging at County Fair; Writing news stories on various food topics; Farmers Market displays on fruits and vegetables; Teaching safe home food preservation; Assisting with the Field to Fork day camps; and Coordinating the Chef's Challenge with the Master Gardeners, to name a few.

If you're interested in becoming an Extension Master Food Volunteer, the next series of trainings will be Wednesdays and Thursdays starting February 15 through March 9, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at K-State Olathe, 22201 West Innovation Drive in Olathe. Applications are due February 1 and information and forms are available by calling 785-843-7058 or visiting the website at www.douglas.ksu.edu.
