The Lawrence River City Cosmopolitan Club’s 17th annual Cosmopolitan Diabetes Golf Classic will be at 8 a.m. Friday, May 25, at Alvamar Public and Private Golf Courses.
It's a four-person scramble and the club is still needing players and sponsors. The goal is to have a minimum of 60 teams.
The event benefits diabetic patients at Health Care Access, a clinic that provides care for the uninsured of Douglas County. The funding provides diabetic test strips and other supplies and care. The golf tournament has raised more than $190,000 during the past 16 years.
The Lawrence River City Cosmopolitan Club is affiliated with Cosmopolitan International, a service organization dedicated to the fight against diabetes.
For more information or to sign up, visit www.rivercitycosmo.org or contact Tommy Johnson at 749-5732 or Mike Hertling at 843-1993. The deadline to register is April 25.
