"The first annual Health Care Access Clinic Race to The Summit Indoor 5k and 1/2 Marathon brings a great cause to your personal goals. Test yourself in a fitness environment that is above and beyond average. The hours you have spent cooped up indoors on less than adequate training equipment can now be tested in preparation for the upcoming race season. For the month of February race in the name of health care for those in need. Join us at The Summit by simply signing up, giving back, and racing for a good cause."

    How does this work? Do I pay for a certain distance? Time? Do I need to pay to join The Summit?

    The Half Marathon costs $55 to register
    The 5K costs $35 to register

    You can go into the Summit at anytime this month and race, up until February 29th.

    There are an unlimited number of times that you can enter. Each time that you enter your fee goes directly to help those in our community in need of proper health care.

    There are prizes for those individuals who place in the top 4.
    No participant can earn more than 1 prize package.

Kansas does not require children to wear helmets, but Lawrence has passed an ordinance requiring children, ages 16 and under, to wear a helmet, but doesn't enforce penalties. Traumatic brain injuries account for more than 50 percent of bicycle fatalities among people 20 and under.
