Volunteers for the annual Relay For Life of Douglas County Kansas hosted the Team Captain Kick-Off event on Tuesday, January 24th at Free State High School.
Relay For Life is a national fundraiser to benefit the American Cancer Society. The local event will be held June 8-9 at Free State High School's track on 4700 Overland Drive in Lawrence.
Captains for returning teams, as well as several newly formed teams, attended to receive their Team Packets, Captain's t-shirts, and information regarding registration to begin team fund raising. The next Team Captain's Meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on February 28, 2012 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital's Auditorium. All captains are invited to attend for updated information to make 2012 another successful Relay!
The focal point of Relay For Life of Douglas County, which benefits the American Cancer Society. Money raised goes toward cancer research and programs for cancer patients.
