There's plenty of run/walk events being offered this fall in Lawrence and here's another one to add to your calendar:
The fourth annual Cooper's Cause 5K Run/1-mile Walk will begin at 8 a.m. Sept. 24 at Hollywood Theaters, 3433 Iowa.
The event is organized by Cooper's Cause Foundation, which is named after Cooper Keefer, of Lawrence, who was born with multiple heart defects in 2007. Proceeds from the event will help local families of pediatric heart patients who have health insurance but do not qualify for low-income funding.
The cost is $25 which includes a T-shirt. For children ages 10 and under, it's free but a T-shirt costs $10.
