This Saturday, August 25th from 10a.m. to 1p.m. at Watson Park, Velocity Church will be hosting "Carnival for a Cause" in partnership with Heartland Community Health Center (HCHC). This is a free city-wide event that will include: carnival games, prizes, bounce houses, and bike give-a-ways!

As admission for each family, Velocity Church is asking the community to join together in the effort to bring one or more empty laundry detergent bottles to the carnival. The collection of the hard plastic containers will be given to HCHC diabetic patients for disposal of their sharps. Disposal containers are a required need for patients that are insulin-dependent and must inject themselves with insulin on a daily basis. By donating the detergent bottles you are not only directly helping a patient, but are also allowing HCHC to use more funds for other patient care in the clinic.

So come out to Watson Park this Saturday between 10a.m and 1p.m to enjoy sunshine, games, food, give-a-ways, and community togetherness!

If we can't make the event but want to donate detergent bottles, where to we drop them off?

You can bring them to HCHC in the lower level of the Riverfront Plaza between 9-5, M-F.

To get to HCHC, take 7th street east past Mass Street. Turn left on New York Street. Drive over the railroad tracks to reach our parking lot. When you get inside, follow the green line on the wall to our waiting room. Our front desk staff will be happy to help you.
