Heartland receives Quality Improvement Award from HRSA for second consecutive year

For the second year in a row Heartland Community Health Center has received an award for Health Center Quality Improvement from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The award is given to health centers all over the country to recognize quality care and to allow them to continue making improvements. Heartland received an award of $44,266.

More than $100 million has been awarded to health centers across the county to improve health center quality. The purpose of the awards is to:

  1. Recognize health centers that displayed high levels of quality performance in 2015 uniform data system reporting and/or significantly improved quality of care from 2014 to 2015.
  2. Provide support for those health centers to continue to strengthen quality improvement activities.
  3. To recognize and provide support for health centers with one or more sites with new and/or continued patient centered medical home recognition.

“It is always great to be rewarded for hard work, and that is exactly what this award is. We have continued to improve our quality through the hard work of our entire staff. We all contribute to the improved quality of our health center,” said Allie Nicholson, Heartland’s Operations Manager.

Heartland received $10,000 for its usage of electronic health records, $4,266 for notable improvement in clinical quality improvements, and $30,000 for achieving Patient Centered Medical Home recognition in 2015.
