We had a nice cool lunch today. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal and the atmosphere. We served 80 meals.
We had 1 volunteer in the morning to help with the meal preparation. I had 4 volunteers come in to help serve and 3 volunteers help clean-up. Thank You to all who helped today.
Our meal today: Tuna & Egg salad sandwiches, Bologna & Cheese Sandwiches, corn, variety of chips, watermelon, salad with dressings, olives, garden fresh peppers, desserts and drinks.
We are looking for someone who knows someone that might have a stack of cafeteria style tumblers/cups. I try to be as green as possible, but I might have no choice but to get foam or paper soon. We are in need of kitchen towels and rags as well.
In Bible study this week (at The Salvation Army), it was put into words the very thing I try to do everyday:
And Paul said to his disciples: "In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" Acts 20:35
Have a blessed day!
