WILLOW DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CENTER WILL HOST RED SHOE WALK AND 5K
LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Willow Domestic Violence Center will host the Walk a Mile In Her Shoes ®: Red Shoe Walk and 5K on May 6, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at Haskell Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kan.
Participants may register to run the 5k or walk the stadium walk, and walkers are encouraged to wear women’s shoes. Registration is $25 and includes an event T-Shirt.
This event is to raise awareness of domestic violence in the Douglas, Franklin and Jefferson counties. Proceeds from this event will help fund the maintenance and programming of the Willow’s Safe Shelter, the cost of which totals approximately $1,332 per day.
This event will occur rain or shine.
