The Willow Domestic Violence Center has 11 families that need to be adopted before the holidays. The Willow’s Adopt-A-Family program supports domestic violence survivors.
Aimee Bradshaw, director of community engagement, said that the families range in size from a single mom and a child to a family that includes six children.
Typically, the center has around 30 to 40 families signed up for the program. But this year there were 53 families, all of which have used The Willow’s services at some time. Because of concerns over the family’s confidentiality, The Willow doesn’t partner with other holiday adoption programs in the community.
If you’re interested in adopting a family, call The Willow’s offices at 785-331-2034. The Willow would like to have the families matched by Dec. 19 and gifts delivered by Dec. 21.
