As we near the end of the calendar year, Congress continues to wrestle with many important issues, including the impending "federal fiscal cliff" and continuation of several Medicare extenders. Many of the issues that remain unresolved will have a direct impact on Kansas community hospitals including Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
The Kansas Hospital Association recently distributed this informative video to our congressional members outlining the potential Medicare cuts and the resulting impact that it will have on our community hospitals. This three-minute video urges our delegation to protect hospital payments in the federal budget.
The Kansas Hospital Association is a not-for-profit association of health care provider organizations and individuals that are committed to the health improvement of their communities. KHA membership includes LMH and 216 other member facilities, of which 126 are full-service community hospitals. Founded in 1910, KHA maintains its vision of "an organization of hospitals working together to improve access, quality and the affordability of health care for all Kansans."
