Ecumenical Christian Ministry is having an all-you-can-eat crepes fundraiser to benefit the Children's Cancer Center in Minsk, Belarus.
The benefit will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at ECM, 1204 Oread Ave. There will be crepes filled with cheese, ham and chocolate. The suggested donation is $5.
The Chernobyl nuclear power plant, located about six miles south of the border with Belarus, was the scene of the most severe accident that has occurred in the nuclear industry.
After the Chernobyl catastrophe the number of children with cancer increased dramatically. The Children’s Cancer Center in Minsk, Belarus, is a rehabilitation center for children and their families. It provides services for free of charge.
