Look Good…Feel Better – These classes help patients deal with the cosmetic side effects that can occur during cancer treatment. Evening and daytime classes available. Ask the LMH Oncology staff or call the American Cancer Society, 800-359-1025.

I Can Cope – Education classes for cancer patients and caregivers. Classes meet at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Contact LMH Connect Care for more information, 785-749-5800.

Reach to Recovery – This program matches newly-diagnosed breast cancer patients with breast cancer survivors for support and rehabilitation. Contact Donna Neuner, 785-842-5250.

Road to Recovery – Local transportation for cancer patients to treatment facilities free of charge. Requires at least 24-hour notice. Contact the American Cancer Society, 877-227-1618.

Breast Cancer Support Group – All breast cancer survivors and their support people are welcome. Also, women with gynecological cancers. Group meets each Monday, 5:30 p.m. Contact Donna Neuner, 785-842-5250.

Man 2 Man Support Group – Cancer patients, survivors and spouses share knowledge and support about prostate and cancer issues. Call the American Cancer Society, 800-359-1025.

Nutritional Supplements – Cancer patients sometimes have very little appetite and/or find it difficult to eat. Free nutritional supplements are available for cancer patients (some restrictions apply). Contact Dona Snead, 785-505-2768, or Lawrence Cancer Center, 785-749-3600.

Guestroom Housing – Hotels/motels that provide free or reduced cost accommodations for cancer patients and their families. Contact the American Cancer Society, 877-227-1618.

Free Wigs – Wigs and turbans are available to cancer patients. Call for appointment or stop by for help with fitting from licensed cosmetologists. Contact Vanity Beauty Shop, 785-843-4611.

Free Breast Prostheses, Fitting and Bras – For an appointment and more information, call Amy Landon, Advanced Home Care, 785-841-2200.
