Pinnacle Career Institute having community blood drive on Valentine's Day

Donating blood on Valentine’s Day — what a great gift that would be.

Last year, 28,000 people in our area needed a blood transfusion.

The Community Blood Center, which provides blood to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, is having a drive:

• from 9 a.m. to noon Monday.

• at Pinnacle Career Institute, 1601 W. 23rd St., Suite 200.

To make an appointment:

• visit esavealifenow.org and use sponsor code pinnaclecareer1.

• call Michelle Worley at 841-9640.

One donation can help two patients. The Community Blood Center must collect at least 580 pints of blood every day to meet the needs of the area.

“When individuals normally think of essential community services, they think about fire and police departments. However, because Community Blood Center is here to meet the needs of local patients, we hope that individuals in our community would consider us to be just as essential.”

— Dr. Jay Menitove, executive director and medical director.
