This is NOT a post about a slumpy fence. We installed two fences a couple weeks ago at our Hillcrest and Sunset Hill Gardens. We LOVE the way they turned out, and how smoothly the installation went.
Just look at that fun, hardworking crew! For growers all over the country, this has been an especially challenging year, and we are so happy to say that this was actually easier and faster than anticipated. In less time than we expected it to take to build one fence, we built two! What a day.
Thanks to everyone who came out, it was a big day for Growing Food, Growing Health.
As I mentioned, we are experiencing some challenges and a slight slump in production. The Heat Wave of July 2011 has not gone unnoticed in our gardens. The fruit that was supposed to set during the high temps didn't, so we are in a lull in production. Not to worry, though, we are still going strong at Markets, delivering to the cafeteria, and are enjoying a slight breather before the high volume returns. See you soon, tomatoes, peppers, and cukes!

I frequently drive by the Sunset Hill garden and noticed the new fence right away! It looks absolutely terrific!
