Growing Food, Growing Health Community Dinner!

We are approaching our Growing Food, Growing Health Community Dinner On January 28. From 6-7:30pm in the West Middle School Cafeteria, we will be celebrating a successful year with our three school gardens. Let me formally extend an invitation to each and every one of you to feast on this seasonally delicious menu:

Sweet Potato and Black Bean Burritos (made with West and Sunset Hill Sweets)
Herbed Grain Pilaf with West Garden Herbs
Salad of locally grown greens
Fair trade tea and coffee and local Iwig Dairy Milk
A selection of locally made desserts from area chefs/bakers

Besides the food, we will be enjoying live music, a slideshow of our three school gardens, and presentations from our Student Gardeners. Last year the room was packed, the food was delicious, and the entire evening was a heart-warming extravaganza. We are looking forward to another celebration of the beautiful produce, knowledge, and inspiration that was sprouted, grown, and gathered in the gardens!

Tickets are $8 for an adult, $5 for a child ages 5-10, and free for children under 5. You can purchase your tickets at the Customer Service Desk at The Merc or at the door the night of the dinner.
