A Lawrence attorney will address the changes and potential benefits that the Affordable Care Act will bring to Kansas seniors during a presentation at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Baldwin City.
Molly Wood, attorney with Stevens & Brandt, Lawrence, will give a presentation called "Medicare, Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act: The Changing Landscape of Long-Term Advocacy" at the Lumberyard Arts Center, 718 High St.
Wood said there has been controversy and confusion regarding the health care reform legislation that President Obama signed into law in March 2010, but one thing is certain: The new focus for the elderly and long-term care is on prevention and home care rather than institutionalization.
The event is free and open to the public.
