Office workers make a stand for better posture

Kjrsten Abel Ruch and Pam Heikes were both standing on a recent day at work. That wouldn't be out of the ordinary at a factory or warehouse. But they work at an office, where they spend most of the days looking at a computer screen. The Douglas County Extension staffers are among office employees — in Lawrence and across the country — who are choosing to stand rather than sit at work or utilize other ergonomically friendly methods to avoid chronic pain and stiffness and otherwise improve their health.
