I would be afraid it will be the same scenario with Medicaid as is was with Medicare Advantage plans. It ended up costing the federal government more in the end to have private companies administer Medicare and in many cases decreased the benefits that recipients had with traditional Medicare.

This is a no-brainer. Of course privatizing Medicare is going to cost more and provide less benefits. What do you think happens when you add a middleman?
This deal is obviously constructed for the benefit of the private companies that would be taking over... so they can make more money.

You ask this question in Lawrence???????? How could you expect any answers different that what you got? Liberal Lawrence? Private companies will control the dollars and cut into the fraud. There is a tremendous amount of fraud in the Kansas Medicaid system. That is why SRS is being overhauled. Something needed to be done for years and nobody had the guts to touch it.
