About Katy
I am originally from Kansas City Kansas. I earned an Associates in Science Degree from KCKCC then graduated from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy in May of 2002 with my Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (PharmD). I have worked for HyVee Pharmacy since graduation, mostly as pharmacy manager. I am also an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor for the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy and active preceptor. I spent 4 years teaching part time in Integrated Lab for the School. With HyVee, I started at the 6th Street HyVee, then spent some time in Kansas City before I came back to Lawrence to be manager at the Clinton Parkway HyVee in 2007. My family & I moved to Topeka in 2008 so my husband could open the Topeka HyVee. I commute back daily to pursue my career as a pharmacist. I love the interaction with my patients and providing knowledge, health screenings, and counseling to help make their lives “easier, healthier, and happier.” I take pride in being able to help you in any way I can, and being an active member in our community. I am certified to give immunizations & CPR, a trained Wellness Coach, and SHICK Partner with my Bachelor's in Medicare. I also have 3 kids, they are 11, 3, and 1 and they keep me very busy. I love to cook & be in the kitchen, spend time with my family, and be outdoors. I used to compete agility with my 2 Jack Russell Terriers. I recently took up competing in Triathlons, and completed 3 Sprint Triathlons after joining the HyVee Tri Team in June. You might see me around town in my HyVee Jersey. I try to remain active in the community as well and recently became a Meals on Wheels Volunteer. Stop by HyVee and say hi!
