David Johnson has been Chief Executive Officer of the Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center in Lawrence, Kansas since 2001. David has been a CEO for mental health agencies since 1979. He has been dedicated to local and state leadership throughout his career. David was the first president of the Iowa Community Providers. More recently he was the president of the Association of Community Mental Health Centers of Kansas when Kansas Health Solutions was created and lead the negotiations for the sole source contract to manage Medicaid for Kansas mental health services. David has served in statewide capacities as an appointee of Democrat and Republican governors and other elected officials.

In addition to serving as the CEO of Bert Nash, David currently serves on the boards of directors of the Tower Mental Health Foundation, Kansas Communities in Schools, the Kansas Health Policy Authority Provider Advisory Council, and was recently appointed to the Lawrence Elementary School Facility Task Force.
