About Erika
Born and raised in Glendale, Arizona. I went away to college and earned a Bachelors degree in Russian and English from the University of Tulsa. After a year of service through the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Sacramento, California, I moved to Lawrence to attend the University of Kansas. Five years later I had two Masters degrees (English and Russian), four years of teaching experience, a husband, and no job. I started as a temp at United Way of Wyandotte County. After seven years of moving up the ranks, I celebrated the opportunity to return to Douglas County as the United Way CEO. I have two kids, Nicholas and Renee.
