Kristie is the mother of two young girls Audrey (7) and Maurene (5). Her husband Joshua is a Captain in the United States Air Force.
Graduated from Washburn University with a Bachelor of Arts in History.
Member of USD 497 School Board.

Executive Director of the Lawrence Center for Entrepreneurship, a local facility developing programs and facilities to support local entrepreneurship and small business growth.
Long time entrepreneur and co-owner of Wicked Broadband, Lawrence's only locally owned and operated Internet Service Provider.
Kristie has been a strong advocate for local entrepreneurs and small businesses.
She is also an advocate for community health, childhood nutrition and empowering children to cook.
Kristie's Lawrence Trail Hawks name is “Poli-Hawk” because she is an avid runner and supporter of pedestrian safety. Kristie has been working with several local groups to make Lawrence a more walkable community.
Member of First United Methodist Church, Lawrence Central Rotary Club, Toastmasters International, Social Media Club of Lawrence, Lawrence Breakfast Optimist Club, Lawrence Trail Hawks, Lawrence Business Exchange, Lawrence Women's Network, Lawrence Pedestrian Coalition and co-chair of Safe Routes to School.
