Despite an ever changing weather forecast, the vendors at Cottin’s Hardware Farmers Market are busy gearing up to bring you a wide selection of delectable goodies for Thursday’s Market.
Last week sunshine prevailed, Pig Pie was served and lots of greens and baked goods were sold to delighted patrons. Fresh Picked showed up on cue and entertained everyone with toe tapping, hand clapping music that was a big hit with market goers and vendors alike.
Thursday, May 19th is sure to be another great market. Filling in for the market’s meat vendors, who will join the market in June, are Nikki’s Pies and Breadth Gluten Free Bake Goods. The market’s other bakers include, Backdoor Bakery, specializing in cookies and cupcakes made with locally sourced ingredients, Upward Spirals breads and pizza crusts, S & S Artisanal Grocery with an ever changing selection of goodies and Stony Ridge Farm with fresh baked coffee cakes and breads along with delicious jams, jellies and farm fresh eggs. Martin Farm is also trying their hand at dealing in baked goods while they await the bounty from their garden to arrive.
Avery’s Produce, MAD Farm, Mellowfields Urban Farm, Brownfield Blue+Green and Nuestra Hortiliza will all be marketing a fresh picked selection of produce, heavy on the leafy greens right now. Kale, chard, spinach, broccoli raab, mustard greens, lettuce, pea greens, herbs and radishes are just some of the seasonal produce selections you will find at Cottin’s Hardware Farmers Market this week.
Vinland Valley Nursery and Shopen’s Blueberry Plants will both be on hand with green goods and potted plants. Several produce vendors will also offer high quality, seasoned vegetable starts and maybe a Christmas cactus or two.
Ardys Ramberg will be this week’s musical guest and Mr. Bacon BBQ will serve up his increasingly famous Pig Pie, Chick Pie and good ‘ole fashion BBQ, alongside a special weekly treat, yet to be determined.
Come join the fun Thursday, May 19 in the back parking lot of Cottin’s Hardware & Rental, 1832 Massachusetts Street for the best neighborhood farmers market in town!
