GaDuGi SafeCenter presents the Second Annual 'Shoppin' For Survivors' Silent Auction this Saturday

"Shoppin' for Survivors" is a fundraiser for GaDuGi SafeCenter, the rape and sexual assault crisis center in Lawrence that serves Douglas and Jefferson counties. GaDuGi (pronounced gah-doo-ghee) provides free 24-hour services and support for women, children and men affected by sexual violence on the phone, at the hospital, in court and in person. Last year, GaDuGi SafeCenter provided 1,606 hours of direct services to 256 people including 20 trips to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for sexual assault advocacy.

The event will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, August 18th, at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott in the Riverfront Mall in Lawrence, Kansas. There will be food, live music, children’s activities, and a silent auction. There are over a 150 items, worth $124,000, up for bid including Disney park passes, autographed basketballs by the University of Kansas men's team, a Coach purse, a Branson getaway, and much more! The event is free and open to the public. A $10 donation is suggested. I went to this event last year and it was a blast! Lots of great things to bid on and for a great cause. I now know where I will be on Saturday night.
