GaDuGi SafeCenter, serving women, children and men affected by sexual violence in Douglas and Jefferson Counties, was recently approved by Kansas Health Solutions, as a Medicaid provider. Two licensed therapists, Sonja Kristiansen and Susan Miller, will provide the services.
Sonja Kristiansen, a Licensed Masters Level Social Worker, has recently accepted a position at GaDuGi SafeCenter, working primarily with children and adolescents and their families. Ms. Kristiansen has diverse experience working with youth including Menninger’s Children’s Hospital, Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center, The Shelter, Inc., The Douglas County District Court Citizen Review Board, and schools. Ms. Kristiansen has served as a board member and a volunteer for several local nonprofit community agencies in the Douglas County area.
Susan Miller is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Certified Trauma Specialist. She will provide trauma recovery counseling for adults who have been sexually assaulted or abused. Miller has been a therapist with GaDuGi SafeCenter for over two years. GaDuGi SafeCenter is committed to serving and supporting individuals, families and communities in healing from sexual violence.
