Bambino's-Fresh Italian food at newest addition to LiveWell EatWell

One of the best parts of my job is walking into restaurants and smelling the wonderful aromas. I love food so pouring over menus and seeing interesting and flavorful combinations of ingredients is one of the pleasures of working with LiveWell EatWell. Bambino's has some great choices from their homemade marinara sauce to whole grain pasta. If you are tempted by one of the richer sauces you can have it on the side to drizzle over grilled seafood or chicken.

I caught Roxana Sarraf at the right moment when she was revising Bambino's lunch menu. She decided to add fresh fruit as a side dish and low fat milk after we reviewed the LiveWell EatWell criteria. She also mentioned that they cater many events and are able to provide lower fat menu items and sugar free desserts.

Perfact timing! I love that restaurant owners are open to your suggestions.

Good idea to ask for the sauce on the side. I love Alfredo sauce, but sometimes it can be too much.

Mmmmm. Whole wheat pasta, milk and fruit. Sounds wonderful.

Lucky for you that you even were waited on .... We were there on our first (and last) visit. There were maybe 8 or 10 other people in that whole restaurant. We waited 5 minutes to be seated; never saw another waitress....no water served....nothing. Finally left after another 10 minutes

I haven't eaten at the new location, but at the former location, everything was way over-salted. I hope they have backed off on the sodium chloride.

I don't think the owner has always been the same. With owner change come new cooks, new servers, etc... The new location looks 5 star. The old location was small this place is big with a nice looking bar area and outside patio. To me the service and food got way better. The food is not only good they give a good portion to fill you. The price is very reasonable. I also like the new mood, paintings right on the walls, and music they play.

worst italian food ever. I am shocked they are still in business. even the bread tastes terrible.

The person who didn't get service should consider themselve lucky. You can get a better quality food from McDonalds.

    1. JenniferBaker (anonymous) replies

What are you talking about. I have had nothing but great experiences at Bambino's. And the service and food is great.

    2. StevenW (anonymous) replies

Obviously you are wrong. If they were so bad their is no way they would have been around for so many years.

Bambino's lasagna is the best in Lawrance. If you don't beleave me go see for your self.

    1. LarryNative (anonymous) replies

No it's not. Have you tried 715? I admit it's been a few yrs since I ate Bambinos but then it was all out of a can. I went to the auction at the old locale and the kitchen smelled so bad, one guy I was with ran outside and got sick. It was disgusting. You should do a follow up story and ask the old landlord how he got knifed.

I reserved the private room at Bambino's for a business meeting. They have a huge projector t.v/screen that I plugged my computer to for my Powerpoint presentation. Things went of without a hitch, the meeting went great and I feel my employees got a lot out of the presentation and the big projector had alot to do with it, it made my presentation come to life...they didn't even charge me extra to use the projector. Meeting went so well that after we hung around and watched the K.U game on the projector big screen. We won, go Jayhawks!!!

Thanks Bambino's. My family and I have been going to the Bam. for years, even when they were on Mass. If you have not been to the new location, it's to die for. The old location was small this place is big with a nice looking bar area and outside patio. To me the service and food got way better. The food is not only good they give a good portion to fill you. The price is very reasonable. I also like the new mood, paintings right on the walls, and music they play. Speaking of music a few weeks back we went their I beleave it was a Saturday night and they had a live musician playing great guitar and some original songs. If I had any complain it would be that they don't have more than one location in town. Lawrence could use more restaurants like this. Thank's Bambino's

New in town. I read about Bambino's adding more health conscious food to their menu. I went with my roommate. The service was great and we really liked the atmosphere. We both had heart healthy entrees, very tasty(didn't think healthy food can be delicious). Love the flowerless chocolate torte. Kudos Bambion's. We'll be back.

    Bambino's Rocks!!!!!

I come from the south were the taste of the food is very very important. Since I came up here for school I have not tasted food with the deep deep taste of greatness like we have in the south, till I eat at Bambino's tonight. I'm not talking about the kind of food, I'm talking about the teast of it. Hands down BAMBINO'S HAS THE BEST TASTING FOOD IN LAWRANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. RichardKUAlumni (anonymous) says…

I saw Eddie Glenn play at Bambino's last Thursday. We eat and watched him play for 2 more hours. It is amazin how he can play complicated guitar and still sing on top of all that. Great job Eddie Glenn. We are coming to watch and listen to you play this Thursday and I'm bringing more friends.

New report recommends Kansas implement bicycle helmet law to help prevent deaths, injuries

Liberty Memorial Central Middle School students Eleanor Matheis, 13, foreground left, and Mary Reed Weston, 13, right, put on their helmets before bicycling home from school Tuesday, May 22 2012. Kansas has the 27th highest rate of injury-related deaths in the country, according to a new report. Kansas does not require children to wear helmets, but Lawrence has passed an ordinance requiring children, ages 16 and under, to wear a helmet, but doesn't enforce penalties. Traumatic brain injuries account for more than 50 percent of bicycle fatalities among people 20 and under.
